Xiaomi continues to actively expand its automotive division and has shown new official images of the YU7 GT. The model received the vivid Crimson Red paint finish and is positioned as a direct competitor to the Tesla Model Y and Tesla Model X Plaid. The main feature of the newcomer is its extreme performance — the powertrain produces 990 hp.
The car was developed with Nürburgring testing in mind, therefore Xiaomi focused not only on aerodynamics, but also on handling. In the featured photos, we can see an aggressive aerodynamic body kit, large air intakes, a massive rear diffuser and sports brakes. GT decals and special large-diameter wheels complement the image.
According to preliminary data, the YU7 GT could reach around 300 km/h. For comparison, many modern SUVs are limited to 240–250 km/h. Thanks to nearly 1,000 hp, acceleration from 0–100 km/h should take less than 3 seconds. Previously, Xiaomi already showed serious ambitions in the high-performance EV segment with the SU7 Ultra sedan, which broke records at the Nürburgring.
The technical side of the car is also quite impressive. According to Chinese media, the crossover could receive a 101.7 kWh battery, while range is expected to reach up to 705 km on the CLTC cycle. At the same time, engineers paid significant attention to the battery cooling system because the car is designed for heavy loads during track driving.
