The Nissan Motor Corporation Group has reported its second-quarter 2026 results for the U.S. market, and the numbers suggest the company is experiencing its most sustained recovery in years. Combined sales of Nissan and Infiniti vehicles in the United States rose 9.6% year-over-year to 242,741 units. Compared with the same period last year, the improvement is significant and allows Nissan to maintain its position as the fastest-growing mainstream automaker in the country for the tenth consecutive month.
Perhaps the most notable achievement is the company’s streak of 16 straight months of year-over-year retail sales growth. Retail sales as opposed to fleet deliveries or dealer inventory shipments are widely regarded as the most reliable indicator of genuine consumer demand. By this measure, Nissan continues to outperform many of its mainstream competitors in the U.S. market.
Breaking down the results by brand, Nissan’s retail sales increased 8.8% during the quarter. Several key models were responsible for the growth. The Nissan Frontier pickup recorded a 36.8% year-over-year increase in retail sales, achieving its strongest June performance since 2010. The compact Nissan Sentra sedan gained 33.3%, while the brand’s best-selling model, the Nissan Rogue crossover, posted a 29.4% increase. Meanwhile, the Nissan Pathfinder delivered the highest quarterly sales volume in the model’s history.
The luxury division Infiniti posted more modest results. Total quarterly sales reached 12,298 vehicles, while retail sales declined by 3.7%. However, the flagship Infiniti QX80 SUV achieved its best second-quarter retail sales result on record, with more than 3,300 units sold. Infiniti also expanded its lineup with the launch of the new Infiniti QX65 crossover.
