Zeekr has announced that pre-orders for the five-seat version of its flagship plug-in hybrid SUV, the Zeekr 9X, will open in China on July 8. The model is also expected to reach European markets before the end of 2026. In its most powerful configuration, the 9X delivers up to 1,030 kW (1,381 hp).
The original six-seat Zeekr 9X went on sale in China at the end of September last year, with prices ranging from 465,900 to 599,900 yuan ($68,625β$88,360). According to China EV DataTracker, cumulative deliveries of the model have already surpassed 60,000 units. Zeekr claims the 9X has remained the best-selling vehicle in China’s premium full-size SUV segment for seven consecutive months.
The five-seat version had previously been spotted undergoing road testing in China, but the company has now officially confirmed its addition to the lineup. Detailed specifications have yet to be disclosed. However, Zeekr stated on social media that the new variant will “inherit the flagship DNA of the Series 9 family and redefine luxury in a five-seat format.”
The launch comes as competition in China’s full-size five-seat SUV segment intensifies. Rival manufacturers including Aito, Lynk & Co, and Li Auto have all introduced products targeting the same market, making the battle for premium SUV buyers increasingly competitive.
Based on official teaser images, the five-seat model appears nearly identical to the six-seat version in both design and overall structure. The Zeekr 9X measures 5,239 mm in length, 2,029 mm in width, and 1,819 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,169 mm. For comparison, it is 32 mm longer, 75 mm wider, and 4 mm lower than the Mercedes-Benz GLS.
The standard version is powered by a plug-in hybrid system combining a 2.0-liter internal combustion engine with two electric motors. Total system output reaches 660 kW (885 hp), enabling a 0β100 km/h sprint in just 3.9 seconds.
Buyers can choose between two battery options. A 55-kWh battery provides up to 300 km of electric-only range, while a larger 70-kWh pack increases the CLTC-rated range to 380 km.
At the top of the lineup sits a tri-motor performance variant producing 1,030 kW (1,381 hp). This version can travel up to 355 km on electric power alone and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds.
Additional highlights include the G-ASD H9 advanced driver-assistance system with 1,400 TOPS of computing power, a 48-volt active anti-roll system, and a dual-chamber air suspension setup designed to enhance both comfort and handling.
With a new five-seat configuration, flagship-level technology, and supercar-rivaling performance figures, the Zeekr 9X aims to strengthen its position in one of China’s fastest-growing premium vehicle segments.
