The flagship full-size SUV Xpeng GX entered the Chinese market on May 20, 2026, and within just a few weeks has recorded strong interest from overseas buyers.
Company chairman He Xiaopeng said that since the model’s debut at the Beijing Auto Show, buyers from other countries have placed more than 1,000 blind pre-orders. The Middle East has been selected as the first region for official pre-sales outside China.
In the domestic market, the GX is available in eight different trims, priced from 279,800 yuan (41,400 USD) to 359,800 yuan (53,200 USD). As part of a limited-time promotion, prices have been reduced to between 269,800 and 349,800 yuan (39,900โ51,700 USD).
The launch became one of the most successful in Xpeng’s history: within 12 hours of sales starting, the company received 24,863 firm orders. According to He Xiaopeng, international demand exceeded the company’s expectations.
Delivery dates for the Middle East and the list of future export markets have not yet been announced.
In terms of size, the GX is positioned as a large SUV. It measures 5,265 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, 1,800 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,115 mm.
The model is offered with two powertrain options: an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) system and a fully electric version.
The EREV combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with two electric motors producing 160 kW at the front and 210 kW at the rear. The claimed electric-only range is 430 km on the CLTC cycle, while total range reaches 1,585 km.
In the EV lineup, the rear-wheel-drive version is equipped with a 270 kW motor and a 91.9 kWh battery, providing a claimed range of 665 km on the CLTC cycle.
The all-wheel-drive versions feature two electric motors – 160 kW at the front and 270 kW at the rear – paired with a 110 kWh battery pack and offering up to 750 km of range on the CLTC cycle.
Xpeng’s sales momentum remains strong. In April 2026, the company delivered 25,005 vehicles in the domestic market, compared with 22,710 units in March.
The GX is expected to become one of the most expensive export models in the brand’s history and is aimed at affluent families looking for a large premium SUV outside China.
