The Renault Group has announced ambitious plans to strengthen its presence in Asian markets with the introduction of a new model, the Renault Filante.
The official debut of the vehicle in South Korea is scheduled for March 2026.
This move is part of Renault’s global “Renaulution” strategy, which focuses on developing high-margin models tailored to the specific needs of regional markets. South Korea was chosen deliberately: the local market is known for its high expectations in terms of technology and build quality, while Renault’s long-standing partnership with local operations (formerly Renault Samsung Motors) provides a solid foundation for localization.
The Renault Filante is positioned as a modern SUV that will fill the gap between compact urban crossovers and full-size SUVs. The model is expected to feature an elegant coupé-like silhouette, a body style that is currently highly popular in South Korea. Technically, the Filante will be based on a modular platform from the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance, with suspension tuning adapted specifically to local driving preferences.
