Nissan announced a large-scale service campaign in China that will affect 68,265 N7 and N6 models. The reason for the recall is a potential defect in the accelerator pedal that could affect safety.
The problem is linked to a mechanical return mechanism. In some cases, after being pressed, the pedal could operate incorrectly or return with a delay. The manufacturer emphasized that no serious accidents related to the defect have been recorded. However, the company decided to carry out the recall as a preventive measure.
The service campaign includes both EVs and hybrid modifications. Owners will receive free diagnostics and replacement of necessary components at official Nissan service centers across China.
The N7 and N6 are expected to become part of Nissan’s new strategy to strengthen its position in the EV segment. The cars received a new design, large multimedia screens, updated driver assistance systems and advanced autonomous driving functions.
In general, specialists are paying attention to the growing number of service campaigns among EV manufacturers. Modern cars have significantly more electronic systems and software than previous-generation vehicles. This increases the risk of technical issues and requires constant updates and component improvements.
Despite the recall, Nissan continues to expand its EV lineup for the Chinese market. The company expects that the new models could help recover positions lost due to pressure from local brands such as BYD, Geely and Li Auto.
