The new BYD Seal 08 flagship sedan has begun arriving at dealerships across China approximately two weeks before its official market launch, which is scheduled for July 2, 2026.
The news was shared by BYD’s regional sales representatives on Douyin, where they posted footage of display vehicles appearing in showrooms. Earlier, a leak from one of the brand’s dealerships had already revealed key pricing and specification details.
The Seal 08 has been developed to support both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and fully electric (BEV) powertrains. BYD engineers have placed particular emphasis on its high-voltage electrical architecture and advanced chassis technologies in an effort to position the model as the flagship of the Ocean Series lineup.
The range-topping all-wheel-drive electric version delivers up to 694 horsepower. Built on an 800-volt electrical architecture.
The sedan supports ultra-fast flash charging and offers a claimed driving range of up to 1,000 km.
