Chinese automotive giant BYD has released its sales results for June 2026. The company sold a total of 403,472 vehicles during the month, including 397,292 passenger cars, representing a 5.4% increase compared to May and a 5.2% year-on-year gain.
Demand remained almost evenly split between battery-electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. In June, BYD delivered 201,472 EVs and 195,820 PHEVs, highlighting the balanced appeal of the two powertrain technologies.
Exports also posted strong growth. BYD shipped 174,897 passenger vehicles and pickups overseas in June, up 95% from a year earlier. During the first half of 2026, the company’s cumulative overseas deliveries reached 789,367 units.
Among BYD’s four brands, the Dynasty & Ocean lineup remained the main sales driver with 340,863 vehicles sold. Fang Cheng Bao ranked second with 35,607 deliveries, followed by premium brand Denza with 20,352 units and luxury marque Yangwang with 470 vehicles.
Within the Dynasty series, the Song family led the way with 72,546 units sold in June, bringing its year-to-date total to 234,163 vehicles. The Yuan lineup, known internationally as the Atto series, surpassed 70,000 monthly sales for the first time. The Qin sedan recorded 53,653 deliveries, while the Han and Tang models remained in the 5,000โ15,000-unit range. The Xia MPV, marketed overseas as the M9, exceeded 1,000 monthly sales.
In the budget-focused Ocean lineup, the Sealion crossover was the best-selling model with 47,624 units sold. The Dolphin hatchback followed with 34,528 deliveries, ahead of the Seal sedan with 33,365 units and the city-focused Seagull with 25,080 units. The Song Plus maintained steady momentum with 28,927 sales.
The standout achievement of the month came from Denza, which surpassed the 20,000-unit monthly sales milestone for the first time since the brand’s launch, delivering 20,352 vehicles. The D9 MPV remained the brand’s bestseller with 8,253 units sold, followed by the Z9 sedan family, including the Z9 GT, with more than 6,000 deliveries. The N8L and N9 contributed smaller but stable volumes.
Within Fang Cheng Bao’s off-road-focused lineup, the Ti7 pickup attracted the strongest demand, recording 23,710 sales and becoming the brand’s clear bestseller. The Bao 5 and Ti3 both exceeded 4,000 monthly deliveries, while the flagship Bao 8 posted more modest results.
Yangwang remained a niche luxury brand, with just 470 vehicles sold in June. Only one of those was the exclusive U9 hypercar, bringing the model’s year-to-date total to just 12 units.
