BYD Great Tang: more than 30,000 orders in 24 hours

The new EV SUV BYD Great Tang showed huge demand before the official sales launch. In the first 24 hours, the model collected more than 30,000 preorders, which confirms the brand’s strong position in the domestic market and growing interest in large EVs.

The car’s price starts at around 36,200 USD and reaches 46,400 USD depending on the trim. At the same time, the model offers specs that earlier were available only in a more expensive segment.

Great Tang is a full-size crossover and has huge dimensions: the length is up to 5302 mm, the width is 1999 mm, and the wheelbase is 3130 mm. This provides a spacious interior and a high level of comfort for passengers.

One of the key features is a 1000-volt architecture. It allows ultra-fast charging and reduces charging time. The maximum range is around 950 km on the CLTC cycle, which makes the model one of the longest-range vehicles in its class.

Dynamics are also impressive: the AWD version does 0–100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. This result is comparable to sports cars.
The car is equipped with an adaptive pneumatic suspension, an all-wheel steering system and a “crab course” mode that makes it easier to maneuver in limited spaces.

The interior is made with an emphasis on technology and comfort. A 3-nanometer processor is used, along with an audio system with 27 speakers and a panoramic roof. All these features create a feeling of a premium product, despite the quite affordable price.
