The new Audi E7X, developed together with SAIC, has become one of the most interesting projects of the German brand for the Chinese market. It is a full-size EV SUV that combines high power, long range, and modern electronics.
In the highest trim, the car is equipped with a dual-motor system with a total power output of around 500 kW (670 HP). Torque exceeds 800 Nm, which allows it to accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.9–4.0 seconds. Maximum speed is limited to 210–220 km/h.
A battery made by CATL has a capacity of up to 109 kWh. It is one of the largest batteries in its class. The range is declared at 700–750 km on the CLTC cycle. The car supports fast charging up to 250–300 kW, which allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in around 25–30 minutes.
The platform supports fully electric versions as well as a hybrid modification, which makes the model versatile in terms of market positioning. The car is more than 5 meters long, and a wheelbase of around 3 meters provides a spacious interior.
A notable feature of the project is a new Audi approach to positioning in China. The E7X is produced under the AUDI brand (without the traditional four-ring logo), which is oriented toward local preferences. This applies to the design as well as digital functions, including multimedia and integration with Chinese services.
Therefore, the E7X is an attempt by Audi to compete directly with Chinese premium brands, which already offer high levels of technology and more aggressive pricing policies.
